Something about me

Hi! I’m Rachael and welcome to Rachael Trask Novels!

I describe myself as a woman of a certain vintage who’s been around the houses a few times!

I began my life in Cardiff. After 35 years away, including a couple of spells living abroad, I returned to South Wales in 2002. I was widowed in 2008, but married again in 2017. Over the past few years, it is from my husband, a psychic medium, that I have learned so much about the paranormal, and I have developed some sensitivity myself. I always say ‘there’s no para about it! It’s all perfectly normal in our house’! 🙂

I don’t want to write dark, sinister ‘ghost’ stories. The ‘other side’ is nothing like that at all. There is only goodness and guidance. The reality contradicts the horror stories so beloved of the entertainment industry and I want to reflect that in my writing. If only more humans could ‘tap in’ and listen to the spirits, this world would be a much better place.

My husband and I live happily and quietly together with our dog in the valleys of the South Wales countryside. I have three grown-up sons and three gorgeous young grandchildren. ( I would say that, wouldn’t I; but they are!)

Other than writing, I love wildlife, dogs, cats, horses, reading, history and trying to teach myself to play the piano. In 1995, as a mature student, I completed an honours degree in Environmental Biology at Oxford Brookes University. My garden is a testament to wildlife conservation!
